Ricardo Lemvo has established himself as a pioneer with his innovative music, combining Latin and African elements from salsa to soukous with an occasional merengue or Afro-Portuguese excursion.

He is the embodiment of the Afro-Latin Diaspora which connects back to Mother Africa via the Cuban clave rhythm. Moreover, Lemvo is a multi-cultural being who is equally at home singing in English, French, Spanish, Portuguese, Lingala and Kikongo.

Since forming Makina Loca in 1990, Lemvo has refined his craft and vision, raising his joyous voice with strength, singing songs that celebrate life, and most importantly, inspiring his audiences to let loose and dance away their worries. Through the years Lemvo has performed countless shows and in many prestigious festivals throughout Europe, The Americas, and Australia. Giving him the ultimate form of respect, his songs have been performed by such Latin luminaries as Joe Arroyo of Colombia, and Orquesta Revé from Cuba.

Ricardo Lemvo leaves an indelible impression with any and all who hear his music or see him perform. Why? Because like Lemvo there is no other.

Enticing Afro Cuban Jazz!

Long John Oliva

"If there is a better conga player in town than Long John Oliva, I'll eat my practice pad."

- John Payne
L. A. Weekly

Born in Havana Cuba, Long John Oliva's AC Timba Jazz Project is a musical metamorphosis that encompasses Latin Jazz.

Out on Orishas Records, Long John's 2002 cd release "Lucumi" is an amazing mix of Afro Cuban Rumba, Yoruba, Timba, Son and Jazz. Long John; Changuito; Puntilla and Omar Sosa prove that they are the representatives of this generation of Rumberos and provides us with maybe the last opportunity to listen to the Masters of the Cuban drum.

Anticipating an early Summer release, also recorded on Orishas Records "Buscando La Ortographia" is Long John's latest project. It is a transplantation of Afro-Caribbean indigenous rhythms with a Jazz fusion that will excite, intoxicate and embrace your spirit. Not to mention his appreciation of Brazils melodic influence in some cuts such as "Aché Elegua," "Capullito," "Libre," and "Yo." This music is a vast magnitude of effervescent sounds that will captivate your body and soul.

Guaranteed to either make you get up and dance, or just sit back and absorb the surrealism of its enticing rhythms, and spirituality. Long John & His AC Timba Jazz Project is a media of eclectic Cuban sounds, and the Jazz World.
